- looking to fabricate a modification stand similar at TCPO (water pipe). No water pipe available at local shops. Water authority had it but to much of a pain to procure it. Plenty of shops in Asela have square tube, 80mm x 80mm by 6 m. I think it is common to find this in all locations. Thickness of square tube varies. Asela price was 310 Birr per section. In Nazret guy tried to rip me off at 450 per section. drilling hole for water pipe a bit of a challenge. Found large drill bits in nazret at local market at 2nd hand truck parts area. drill bit to large for drill chuck of the drill that we had. Modified bit manually. No machine shop services available. Bit worked but it wobbled like hell as expected. Job was finished the old fashion way with a rat tail file. Very labor intensive but I was satisfied with the results. Opening hole for pipe was beefed upped with with washers and welded. a bit of over kill after the fact. Bolt to secure galvanized pipe a challenge to find in Asela. Looking for full long thread bolts in shops but hard to find. Here in Asela did not have dies big enough to do the job. Ended up finding full thread bolts in again in the 2nd hand parts area in nazret. Turn handle for bolt is a cut off piece from a crow / pry bar which is availabel in most shops. Square tube easy to work with. Go for it.
